Neurofeedback
About Neurofeedback
Neurofeedback is a non-invasive, evidence-based brain training method that helps regulate and optimize brainwave activity. By providing real-time feedback about your brain’s electrical patterns, neurofeedback teaches your brain to shift away from dysregulated activity and move toward healthier, more efficient functioning.
It is often used to support attention, emotional regulation, sleep, performance, and recovery from trauma or neurological conditions.
How Neurofeedback Works
During a neurofeedback session, sensors are placed gently on your scalp to monitor your brainwave activity.
Unlike stimulation-based treatments, neurofeedback does not send anything into the brain—it only measures activity.
You sit comfortably while watching a screen, such as a video, animation, or game, that responds instantly to your brainwave patterns.
When your brain produces healthy, desired activity, the video plays smoothly or the game progresses.
When patterns shift toward dysregulation, the feedback changes (the video dims, pauses, or slows).
Through repeated training, your brain learns—automatically and subconsciously—to operate in more stable, regulated patterns.
Sessions typically last 30–45 minutes.
Your ongoing brainwave data helps guide your individualized protocol, allowing us to monitor progress and adjust training as needed.

The Neurofeedback Process
1. qEEG Assessment: We begin with brain mapping to identify specific patterns to target.
2. Protocol Development: Based on your qEEG results and clinical presentation, we design a personalized training protocol.
3. Training Sessions: Sessions typically last 30-45 minutes and are conducted 1-2 times per week. Most individuals complete 30-40 sessions, though some benefit from shorter or longer courses.
4. Progress Monitoring: We regularly assess your symptoms and brain patterns to track progress and adjust protocols as needed.
5. Maintenance: Some individuals benefit from occasional "booster" sessions after completing initial training.
What to Expect
Neurofeedback is painless and non-invasive. During sessions, you sit comfortably while watching a screen. Many people find the process relaxing and even enjoyable. Some individuals notice changes within the first few sessions, while others experience gradual improvement over several weeks.
Evidence Base
Neurofeedback has been researched for over 50 years and is recognized as an evidence-based treatment for ADHD by the American Academy of Pediatrics. Growing research supports its effectiveness for anxiety, depression, sleep disorders, and other conditions.
